Underscoring in Worship Settings

The bed of music played under a prayer, shepherding moment, or end of sermon can make or break a moment. Musicians try to find “just the right amount and kind” of music to play for these moments. Some musicians are really gifted at it. Other musicians need a little help. Why? Some musicians take a small portion of the song they just left — and they repeat it over, and over, and over. Sometimes other musicians on stage try to join in and it ends up, let’s just say, like a “who’s following who distraction” from the real moment taking place. So after years of frustrating and distracting moments — I ended up writing 30 underscores in all eleven key. That’s 330 underscores. You can find them at kcmusicstudio.com — and they can be imported as PDF’s right into your favorite worship planning app. Enjoy!
